Bigger Sister Channel is Social Enterprise Certified through Social Traders.

This means that Bigger Sister Channel has been assessed by Social Traders to verify that we operate as a social enterprise both in our constitution and guiding principals, and in how we re-invest any profits back into uplifting our community.

What is a Social Enterprise?

A social enterprise is a business who’s primary purpose of trade is to “tackle social problems, improve communities, give people access to employment and training, or help the environment.” Although there is no legally defined structure a social enterprise must follow within Australia, the Victorian Government defines social enterprises as organisations that:

  • are driven by a public or community cause (social, environmental, cultural or economic)
  • get most of their income from business trade, rather than from donations or grants
  • use at least 50% of their profits to work towards their social mission

Organisations that meet these parameters can apply to become certified with Social Traders. Social Traders is a development organisation that aims to support the growth and impact social enterprise trading.

Social Traders Certification publicly verifies that your business has been properly assessed by Social Traders and endorsed as a social enterprise.

What makes Bigger Sister Channel a Social Enterprise?

  1. Bigger Sister Channel is Social Enterprise Certified because our primary purpose is to provide sex workers with a platform for support and education, with the goal of promoting safe, healthy and sustainable work. Bigger Sister Channel also reinvests over 50% of our profits back into achieving our primary purpose of supporting and educating the sex work community. This reinvestment is legally embedded in our constitution, and verified by financial compliance documents we submit to Social Traders.

Want to support our community project?

Bigger Sister Channel is now accepting financial donations for those who share our vision and want to support our mission. Donations go to operation costs, providing free workshops, compensating expert presenters, developing peer-to-peer education content, having monthly giveaway and supporting sex workers in need or crisis.
